Our Philosophy
Monarch Equestrian Center's lesson and clinic programs range from as young as 6 years old and up. We teach riders who just want to learn to improve their skills to those now competing in top level jumper classes. We believe that in order to become an accomplished equestrian, or horse show athlete, the individual has to develop a long-term skill building plan for mastering the necessary expertise, from proper horsemanship off the horse to competing at shows. Proficiency in these skills at one level helps prepare and transition them to a higher level, improving performance along the way. Our training program is also geared to develop the horses natural ability to its fullest potential in a relaxed manner. The ultimate goal is that the rider's abilities become harmonious with the horse's in a confident manner, thus presenting a winning team! Clinics are tailored to specific riders and horses levels throughout the day, and private and group training is available.
Our Instructor
Collette McNell is a third-generation horse person. Growing up outside of Buffalo New York, she has been riding, training, and showing all her life. She has a B.S. in Education and became a professional trainer and instructor in 1997. Clients from various states and locations meet her at different facilities for instruction and training. Collette is part of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA), and is Certified by the American Horse Council. She is proud to now be the director of Monarch Equestrian Center and is available for new clients.
